A storm approaches the Boulder River Valley... Looking at this shot, I keep thinking Clint Eastwood should be riding up on a pale horse any minute now.

Sunburst

More on that first sunrise after a foggy week.

Transitory

The beauty of a thin shield of ice shining in the sun certainly is transitory-- especially if there's someone watching you take a picture of if. This flake got clobbered by a big kid with a rock about 10 seconds after I took this shot. So, is it better to not look too closely, and let it melt slowly in the sun, or to record the splendor for posterity, thus bringing about its immediate, though not intentional, demise?

Purple Haze

OK, the title is probably a bit of a stretch, but naming these photos is kind of an exercise in free association, and that's just what popped into my head. The skyline is the Teton Range (with the Grand Teton in the middle) peaking over the top of the Big Hole Range, as shot from about 90 miles away.
