Pelicans always make me think of the pterodactyls in old 'Calvin and Hobbes' strips. They look goofy enough they shouldn't be able to fly at all, yet they are remarkably agile in the air, and maniacs when diving into shallow water from great heights. I always love watching them fish. Here's a pair who just spotted some fish and are setting up for their dive.

Secret Path

A path leading up from the beach to the center of town. You can't find it from either the beach or the town-- someone has to show you. Very cool.

This post took forever to put together because the driver for my Intuos 4 tablet kept getting hijacked by Vista's Tablet PC driver, which is waaaay dumber. Finally found the problem ( so far, at any rate). Drop a line if you want to hear it.
