Bubble Burster

My lovely model is popping balloons we've covered with corn starch, and making a terrible mess of the basement. We had a blast! (so to speak) It is quite difficult to pose, smile, and look at the camera with an explosion happening next to your ear. She did a great job, don't you think?

Maybe not "Art" but I love this shot. Notice the touchdown of the the fluid onto the glass surface. Looks just the same as high speed bullets hitting hard stuff. Even down to the petalling of the radial splash. Similitude works! So Cool!

Have a Drink on Me!

I worked in the "studio" today playing with lights and screens and wine glasses. For one thing, it sure makes me want a real studio with some head room. For another thing it makes a fella thirsty, all that work. And this shot looks an awful lot like a good whiskey, not that I'd waste it that way. But now that I'm done I've got an idea. mmmm....

Larry pointed out that the experiment with the new photo site was a flop. So here's another try, doing things the tried and true way.

Face Off

Ice and Rock face off over the creek getting ready for a long winter.

I shot this way back in October, thus the 2011 marking. Been having a horrible time getting the color balance right, for some reason. Still not right, but I'm posting it anyway.
