American Savannah


I don't know why this makes me think of the African Savannah-- I think maybe the tree has something to do with it. (which you might recognize from "Milky Way Tree")

 I notice that the colors are so strong they're really pushing my monitors capabilities.  So if the colors look bad to you, it may be a difference in our monitors' abilities.  Let me know, tho.  No point putting stuff out that nobody but me can see!

Kelvin-Helmholtz Instability at Dawn: Dual Widescreen Wallpaper



Working on this soft pastel taken at City of Rocks Idaho, I noticed the beautiful example of a Kelvin-Helmholtz instability in the clouds.  For you non-geeks, its the "breaking waves" formation at the center of the frame.  Check it out at
