Wet Desert



Deserts are reputed to be warm, dry places where you can go to escape the cold damp northern spring.  Not so, as it turns out.  Southern Utah can be a very wet, muddy, flash-floody, cold place in the spring.  It rained an inch here the night before I took this shot. (which was record so I guess it's not this wet *all* the time!)

Looking for a Hookah




OK, so this guy is obviously not into hookah.  He likes his leaves green and fresh.  But that's what I was raised to think caterpillars do on their time off -- smoke hookah.  We didn't discuss it; I just moved along.
